What You Should Know About Lubricants Before Buying One

Though people started applying lubricants many decades ago in order to ease up anal intercourses and masturbation, the most part of adults are not aware of the benefits of lubricants for vaginal sex. Usually, women consider that when their body doesn't produce enough natural lubrication; it means they are still not aroused, or have sexual disorders. But this is a myth that should be debunked here and now! Often women's body doesn't get enough lubrication due to physiological factors. So, in such cases, sex therapists advice couples to start using lubricants, applying a portion of moisture to the vagina and penis. It will smooth penetration and bring more pleasure for both partners.

Types of lubricants:

Lubricants can vary in flavor, color and texture, but usually they are selling in four major types:

Oil-based Lubes. Oil-based lubricants are made from natural oils, such as nut, flower and vegetable oils. Though these lubricants can leave stains at the sheets, they are highly safe and can be applied to the vaginal canal. However, lubricants of such type can't be applied when using a condom, cervical cap or vaginal ring as these lubes damage latex. Oil-based moistures work particularly well for vaginal and anal sex as well as masturbation, both male and female.

Petroleum-based Lubes. This type of lubricants is usually produced from mineral oils and petroleum jelly, and is the most popular type of sex moisture. The most frequently used petroleum-based lubes are Vaseline-containing moistures and baby oils. However, such lubricants have many disadvantages: they leave stains, irritate the vagina and destroy latex. So, contrary to their popularity such lubes can only be used for anal sex and male masturbation.
